It has taken us awhile but we have all the boxes unpacked and the pictures hung. My family came the day after Christmas to spend a couple of days so that was our major motivation in getting everything done. We had a great time with family but I am totally exhausted! There were twelve us - my brother and his wife couldn't make it due to his being ill. My sister and brother-in-law brought their RV and parked it out by the barn - they and their granddaughter stayed in it. My niece's husband worked feverishly to get the "apartment" above the barn finished so the four of them stayed up there - it isn't totally done but enough they could sleep there. My other niece and her husband and two year old daughter stayed in the guest room. Even when all twelve of us were in the house at the same time, there was plenty of room for everyone to be without it feeling cramped. I really like this house! My Christmas decorations are still up - maybe I'll take them down next week but I'm just enjoying everything right now.
At this point, there is still a little work to be done on the house but it is getting done slowly but surely. The grading still has not been done because it hasn't stopped raining long enough for it to dry out. I think it is dry enough today so if they can come in the next couple of days - then it's supposed to rain again - ugh! One of our dormer windows cracked and on the other side of the house, the sheetrock cracked so I think the house has settled some. That will be fixed. Before Christmas, the cabinet people put a light rail under the cabinets in the kitchen to hide the lights - that still needs to be painted. Most everything else has been completed.
So below are pictures of how we look now. We still have some empty rooms and empty walls where I will need to do some shopping and decorating (oh darn!). We have decided on shutter blinds for the master bedroom, guest room, and library but I haven't decided on what, if anything, to do with the rest of the windows. The house is basically one big circle, with a little detour upstairs to the media room, so the pictures are in order of what you'd see if you walked around.

Looking down the hall from the kitchen and dining area to the master bedroom - pantry and sunroom on the right, stairs to media room and utility room on the left.
The sunroom - we have workout equipment that we plan to put in here - it is still out in Terry's workshop. We will also let dogs stay in here when it is extremely hot or cold. They have already spent a couple of nights in here.
This is our linen closet and we each have our own closet on either side. I am so excited to have a linen closet this big!

I'm definitely going to have to do something interesting with this foyer.
